Geek For E!

Bmore Screening: Paranormal Activity 3 – Oct 19th

I hate scary movies. You know the ones that “could” happen in real life. Such as the almost too famous Paranormal Activity. Well the heads of Paramount obviously don’t hate them, so much so that we are now on part 3!

Only thing I hate more than scary movies are scary movies with children in them! Children of the Corn, Shining (damn those kids!) and many others.

Geek for e is happy to hand out a bunch of free passes to you all for the upcoming screening of Paranormal Activity 3. But you will have to work a bit for these!

So now that you know I am wuss, I am going to make you work to be scared!

I want ghost stories, video clips, true stories (yeah right!) or great Halloween gags from you all.

Once we have reach a good amount of comments (30 or more) I will post the code in this post.

So get started! Tell me your stories!

  1. One evening my brother and I were home by ourselves. I was 8 years old and he was 13. I was in the kitchen getting something to drink and on my way up the stairs I met my brother coming down the stairs. He looked at me kind of weird and said “how did you do that?” I didn’t know what he was talking about and he said you were just upstairs in Mommy’s room watching tv how did you get by me. I told him I hadn’t been upstairs I was in the kitchen getting a snack.

We both ran upstairs to my parents room which was now empty with the tv on. My brother said as he left his room he passed by my parents’ room glanced inside and saw a little girl (which he assumed was me) with her back to him watching tv. There was no other little girl in our house.

To this day we don’t know who or what he saw.

  2. About a year ago, I was asleep in my room and in my dream I heard my mom saying my name. I woke up and saw what appeared to be her standing over me at first but then when I woke up more, I could see that it was a white, wispy figure that was standing over me that quickly disappeared. For the next 15 minutes or so, my bed would not stop shaking.

  3. I went on a small vacation to a country in central america and some local kids, around my age at the time, invited me to a party and we started talking about ghosts and so we decided to play a scary game. There were four of us and we all held hands & they started chsnting something in spanish and the lights started to flicker. I put on a brave face but when all the windows started shaking, i ran out of the house before the other 3

  4. Several years ago I and some friends had about this old tree covered road that led to a covered bridge. We headed out to Jericho Road. As promised the road was a winding path between overhung trees. There were few lights, and the moonlight just peaked though the limbs. We approached the bridge and turned off the lights. We pulled on the side of the road and walked toward the covered bridge. As we approached, Mike said that he thought he saw someoe at the over end of the entrance, we slowed down and tookout our cell phones to provide some light. Mike called out and the figure seemed to be just hovering there. We wanted to get a better look and being three brave souls we continued forward. The figure seemed to floati front of us an then it just disappeared. We kind of laughed at ourselves believeng that we has seen a mist. We headed back to the car and I got in first. I looked in the back mirror and I swear as God ismy witness there was this woman in a white long dress sitting directly behind me. I have never moved so fast in my life,I tumbled out of the car and stood there looking at this creature that was sitting in my backseat. Mike swore he saw it too. She just turned her head toward us and smiled. Then she disappeared. I got us in the car and we drove out of there as if demons were following us. I went backa few weeks later during the early evening hours just out of curiosity. I got out the car and was walking around. Telling myself that I was a fool. I returned to my car and started to head home, laughing at myself fr believing that I had seen a ghost. As I was leaving I looked in the mirror before entering the hioghway and there she was again just standing there and smiling at me. I hven’t been back in a long time.

  5. The scariest memories I have R with a Ouija Board, many late night sleepovers with a group of girlfriends asking questions, the mysterious movement as our hands slowly R guided to certain letters, we were all very young & easily scared, it kept us awake many a nite !!!!

  6. I remember as a kid I would wear multiple masks all at once & I would scare my family & friends, then peel off mask after mask & keep hiding & coming at them, it was kinda like I Was multiple monsters…kinda dorky but as a little kid it seemed cool & my Mom still has a blast talking about it.

  7. When I was young, around five or six, I began seing something not from this world. I would see a child in my house, about the same age as me, but I never saw his face.

Then one day at my cousin’s house there was a bang on his door, which I believed to be my grandmother. I looked through the blinds of the window and saw the child’s face! It was extremely deformed: he had green skin and smiled at me.

I ran and told my parents what happened, but they dismissed it by saying I had a wild imagination. That was the last time I saw the boy.

I had no weird things happen until I turned 16. I began seeing a man in a hooded robe. I could see none of his features. The robe and his body were distinguished by a thin white outline. He would appear to me in school (in the auditorium, my English classroom, and the chapel), at home, and near my bed.

He never did activity until one night. I was in my room and heard a door slam. I ran out of my room worried that someone had broken into the house. There was no person to be found and the doors were all still locked. My parents did not hear the bang. I went to bed and I felt a presence. Soon I heard the sound of laughter. I ran out of my room and into my parents’ room. They thought that I was just worked up about the bang, so they let me sleep with them. (I was sixteen, by the way.)

Coming from my room, I could hear my stereo loudly. Yet again my parents could not hear this. The next night I felt the same presence and he began to laugh again. I begged it to leave me alone and, suprisingly, it did.

Since then it has not made any actitivity. The more I researched, the more I believe it will come back. In most experiences, when you tell the spirit to go away, initally it does, but it comes back worse than ever. If it is coming back, I want to at least know what I am up against. If anyone has any information to help I would be extremely grateful.

  8. True story — I worked with a girl whose sister died of cancer. She told me that in her last days of life that she was unable to talk so she wrote everything down. One day she wrote three names on her pad — her family asked her who these people were since they did not recongonize the names. She wrote dead. Sadly a few days later my friend’s sister passed away. When the family went to the funeral home they noticed a list of names of deceased people who were in the other rooms being viewed. My friend said that the names were very familiar and when she went home later that evening she reviewed what her sister had wrote while in the hospital — on that list were the three names of the deceased people in the funeral home.

  9. I was about 9 years old late at night pouring down raining, a group of us(between age 9-11) were playing bloody mary…you have to repeat bloody mary three times in a dark room with a mirror. When my turn came, all the power in the house went out..but not in the room I was in. Inside the mirror a face of an old wrinkle woman staring back at me. I never played that game again!

  10. As a kid I was afraid of many scary movies..Jason, Freddy, and Crtitters (group of malevolent carnivorous aliens called Krites that have the ability to roll into balls). As a little girl (5 yrs old)…I had a neighbor that came over and gave my family a lot of fruit. Of the many fruits were a couple of huge looking oranges. My dad took these and put them on the table…we went out to dinner. After we came back the huge oranges rolled on the floor…I asked my dad how did the fruits get on the floor..he said they rolled on the floor by themselves because they are about to hatch and come get me…I immediately screamed..I thought they were critters…now that I look back at the “critters” ..they were just a bunch of grapefruits. Funny when I look back…

  11. In 86 a few days after my grandfather passed away I went to the basement to cry and scream my frustration out I was 11 and my most favorite person in the world was gone and I didn’t want anyone to see this meltdown…so I am in the basement on the couch bawling and crying head in my hands and all of a sudden I smell cologne, the same cologne I bought my grandfather every year for xmas Brut…I looked up and there was my grandfather he told me to stop crying, he enjoyed his life and I didn’t lose him he was in a place where he wasn’t in anymore pain. I asked him could he come back and he told me he is in a better position to watch me grow up and then he faded away but I still smelled the Brut I told my mom and grandma what happened and my grandma said he visited me because I must’ve held a very special place in his heart….I have never forgotten that moment

  12. when i was a teenager i worked at a restaurant /ski area/target range. we pranked all the time…we had some many odd jobs on the property in the mountains, privately owned secluded surrouned by acres of woods…got the summer camp vibe but in the mountains, the guys would have to chop wood for the fireplaces and grills.we’d hide the ax rturn it later with blood on it fake of course, once during a storm we found a seriously true a mnequin, dressed it up with coat hat and placed it in the drivers seat of an old car the owner was fixing up. move th car with no one looking and move our man in and out of it..we had to confess when someone wanted to call the police thinking there was a stranger somewhere on the property. we’d deck the place out for haloween and have big costume parties always with scary things happening, people would disappear , ransom notes it was all fun n games until someone took it waaay to serious and we had to stop this was during the era of haloween friday the 13th and nightmane on elm street. my ex got me good one yeAR outside out ist floor apt as freddy could only see the knives on the hand an flash of the sweater..he didnt let up…so i didnt think it was him…of course it doent have to be haloween for a good scary prank…and i used o see the same shadow figure along a highway i used to take home from work..not willing to open the doors any wider to any real paranormal acivity,

  13. One time when me nd my friends were little we played with weegie board and as we were talking to it one of my porcilin dolls started laughing and talking to us…we freaked out amd threw it away and the next day it ended up back into the room so I personally took it to the trash men and watched it drive away in the truck…never played with one of them ever again

  14. About 2 weeks ago, me, my daughter and my girlfriend was watching tv. We heard a noise downstairs, I went downstairs to see what is was. When I got downstairs, the cabinet where the pots and pans are stored was open, so I closed the cabinet and went back upstairs, about 2 minutes later we heard the noise again and also smelled like someone was cooking, We go downstairs and the cabinet was opened again except this time two or pots were on the floor and one was on the stove top with the burner on, at that point we just turned everything off and began to pray, later that night we heard the noise in the kitchen again, I talked to my landlord and come to find out we had cook that died in our house, so we just leave the cabinet open now as a means of giving permission to use the pots.

  15. In college we used to get drunk at the top of the mountain on campus. The boys would drag the kegs up and we would drink by fireside. On a mountain in the middle of nowhere, there were obviously no lights. No one used flashlights going up because flashlights mean COPS!

One night when I was walking a friend down the mountain (sober), I thought I saw some lights coming up the mountain. They didn’t look like cell phone lights, nor did they look like flashlights. I saw this white figure walk passed me, going up the mountain. My friend never saw it, but I saw it.

Campus history fun facts always stated that a building on campus was haunted, but it turns out the mountain was, too!

  16. Once there was a a beautiful young girl who lived in a small town just south of Farmersburg. Her parents had to go to town, so they left their daughter home alone, protected by her dog, which was a very large collie. They told her to lock all the windows and doors after they had left. She did the best she could.

  17. Once I was walking across the Anne Arundel County grass in the rain, and all of sudden I fall in large hold, where I believe the grass was going to cover over me. The more I tried to get out the dipper I went. Finally, I was able to grab some short grass, and pulled myself out, with pray. I was so muddey , when I got out and got on the MTA, people was like “I hope she does not plan to seat by me. The next the hold had been closed up as if it never happen.

  18. Growing up, the mother of a good friend and neighbor of mine was an oncology ward night nurse. Ironically, she died tragically young from cancer herself. My friend swears by the story that, growing up but after her mother passed away, sometimes she would still hear the front door open and close and footsteps come upstairs around the time that her mom should have been coming home from work. She said that once the bathroom light even went on and the faucet turned on as well. She had to get up and turn off the water herself! When I asked her if all of this activity scared her, she said that at first, yes it did. But later she realized that it also meant that her mom was still there with her, and that thought gave her a great deal of solice.

  19. I remember when i was young a bunch of us girls would sit in the dark with candles lit and play with the ouji board. It sure seemed liked our hands were being guided by something other than us. It was very scary.
