Geek For E!

Movie Screening: A Walk Among The Tombstones (TUE 09.16.14 @7:30PM)

Liam returns!

Liam returns with a vengeance!

No one denies Liam Neeson’s a bad ass, and although he keeps portraying the lone equalizer for the mob or for a family in his last few films, he plays it so well we just want to keep seeing him do it.  Know what I mean?  If you do, then you know the root of his new film,  A Walk Among The Tombstones.  Based on Lawrence Block’s bestselling series of mystery novels, A Walk among the Tombstones stars Liam Neeson as Matt Scudder, an ex-NYPD cop who now works as an unlicensed private investigator operating just outside the law.  When Scudder reluctantly agrees to help a heroin trafficker (Dan Stevens) hunt down the men who kidnapped and then brutally murdered his wife, the PI learns that this is not the first time these men have committed this sort of twisted crime…nor will it be the last. Blurring the lines between right and wrong, Scudder races to track the deviants through the backstreets of New York City before they kill again.

Swag Bag: Obvious Child (2014)

Fan of Jenny Slate?  I am.  My first exposure was as Sarah Guggenheim on Showtime’s ‘House Of Lies.’  Sorry, I wasn’t a fan or even remembered her from her SNL days, and her sitcoms from the years never stuck her image in my head like ‘Lies’ did – she made me want to like her.

Jenny’s back with Obvious Child in theatres now.  Based on the short story of the same name, it follows Donna (Slate) as she navigates the whirly ways of an unplanned pregnancy in your twenties.

Wanna catch it this week?  For free?  How about we throw the swag in the image in with too??  You get all, a ticket for two to see it locally at The Charles in Baltimore, a gray night-t, and a grab bag of must have essentials for a night on the town followed by a walk of shame (aspirin for the hangover, a condom for safety, lip gloss to keep it styling, hairband to pull back your locks, and a box of Chiclets to keep your breath tight).

How do I get, what do I need to do?

Free Screening: Crisis (TV Show), Free Grub To Boot

Are you a fan of TV’s ‘Scandal?’ I am.  The character Olivia Pope (played resplendently by the sublime Kerry Washington) is one of my ‘must-see’ TV characters.  Well, our friends over at NBC have a new DC based thriller in the same vein and sex appeal; it’s called Crisis and it’s coming to the small screen this Friday, March 16th.  Crisis, stars Gillian Anderson (X Files) and Dermot Mulroney (Point Of No Return) in a fast paced TV thriller that has you asking how far would you go to protect the ones you love? Crisis is an emotionally charged new drama series about having to choose between your family and your country. When a group of D.C. high-school students is kidnapped during a field trip, their mothers and fathers, some of country’s biggest power players, are forced to do unthinkable things – like jeopardize national security – to ensure their kids’ safety.

Want to see the premiere episode on the big screen?  What if we threw in popcorn and a drink to sweeten the deal?  You’re not fooling anybody – we know you want in (movie popcorn is friggin expensive!).   Click through the banner to find out the details.
