Alex:
I think “Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close” will get the win. A moving story dealing with a tragedy that is still close to home for a lot of people with a strong leading cast of Oscar winners Tom Hanks and Sandra Bullock…need I go on??? Story. Stars. Strong emotions. Winner!Denise:
Oh please cinema gods, anything but The Tree of Life! Wait, I have to pick something? Okay, I’d go with Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, but the fact that neither lead got a nod makes me think this is a long shot. This is a producer’s award to win, so my idea of The Help getting the nod may be far off. So I’ll say The Artist.Matthew:
I think “Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close” will get the win. I honestly think the best picture of 2011 is Warrior though.Tatiana:
I’m going with Moneyball. I know it’s a long shot, but what can I say– I like the underdog… “How can you NOT get romantic about baseball?”Rock:
The Descendants. Just the best I’ve seen, but what worries me is the film is rated R. I’ve rewatched the film twice now and I have to say – where is the rating coming from? A couple potty-mouth bits of dialogue, but no nudity or excessive violence, I can’t figure the rating out.Score card…
Alex – Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close
Denise – The Artists
Matthew – Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close
Tatiana – Moneyball
Rock – The Descendants
