Mmm, comics.  I love ’em, but I also love being able to pay my mortgage.  But on one day out of the year, I get to indulge in my need to roll around on a bed full of comic books (yeah, like you never had that fantasy)…Free Comic Book Day!

This year it’s May 5th, and to celebrate, Cards Comics and Collectibles (the folks that sponsor the Baltimore Comic-Con, don’cha know) are planning to throw down.  Why?  Because it’s Free Comic Book Day, and because it’s the opening weekend of Marvel’s The Avengers.  Two treats in one, y’all.

* Photos with THE AVENGERS! —

IRON MAN. THOR. CAPTAIN AMERICA. (And quite possibly … THE HULK!) will all be on hand to pose for photos with fans and greeting the winners of the 98 Rock contest AVENGE THE DAY! Before they hit the downtown Pinball Museum, Geppi’s Entertainment Museum and an afternoon screening of THE AVENGERS at AMC White Marsh IMAX, winners will first hit CCC to pose with the heroes themselves … and receive their weekend passes to BALTIMORE COMIC CON!

* Top artists and writers in the comic industry will be on hand giving out autographs and free sketches!

* A new costume contest, every hour on the hour!

* Free food & drink!
