I love the Olympics. But whenever these Games come around, I’m also thinking about the X Games, and all the awesomeness that entails. So here’s a chance to get a big-ol’ eyefull of awesome next Tuesday. We have 20 ADMIT ONE tickets to give away for Nitro Circus. And you read the title of this post right; these are guaranteed seats. There’ll be a cool person with a list that may just have your name on it. Oh, and did I mention this adrenaline fest is in 3D? Yeah baby!
Wanna know how to get on that list? Yeah you do. Don’t blame you one bit. Read on, my friends. Read on!
Nitro Circus Screening:
Tuesday, August 7
7:30 PM
Cinemark Egyptian
7000 Arundel Mills Circle, Hanover, MD
Here’s a little info about the film, for folks unfamilar with the show:
In NITRO CIRCUS THE MOVIE 3D, Travis Pastrana and his tight-knit, highly-skilled, adrenaline-addicted friends bring their impossible, ridiculous, insane and hysterical adventures to the big screen for the first time. Dreaming up the most dangerous stunts in the world of action sports – whether they are trying to back flip a bike over a building 60-stories high or landing a death defying jump while playing Angry Birds – Pastrana and his gang are always at it. High Risk. High Octane. And No Safety Nets Allowed.
Check out the movie’s Web site for more info, and take a look at what’s to come in the movie by peeping the poster:
Now, how do you get yourself into this screening? Simple:
1) E-mail me at Geekfore@gmail.com — DON’T FORGET YOUR FIRST AND LAST NAME!
2) Make sure you put Nitro Circus as the subject of your e-mail.
3) Seats should go fast, but all entries must be received by close-of-business — that’s 5pm everybody — Friday, August 3rd.
That’s it! The first twenty folks will get on the list for the screening. Remember, this is an Admit One deal, so if you have friends clue ’em in now. Or you could go see it again, with them, when it hits theaters August 8th. Either way works.
Good luck to everyone, and see y’all at the movies!

First and foremost, thank you very much, Geek for E, for providing us with the opportunity to see these movies pre-release … especially for FREE!! I have to say, though, that I am so glad that I DIDN’T have to spend my hard earned cash on Nitro Circus 3D.
Travis Pastrana and his adrenaline junkie friends pull off some amazing stunts in the course of this film, but what they fail to pull off is a compelling movie. This was essentially a 1 hr 28 minute commercial for their live Vegas show. And aside from infomercials, which are strangely compelling in their own weird way, commercials shouldn’t be longer than 2 minutes. EVER!!
As best as I can figure, this was supposed to be a stunt film in the same grain as Johnny Knoxville’s Jackass series. While it has plenty of stunts, what it lacks is Knoxville’s interest. Without the pranks and awkward situations, Jackass wouldn’t be nearly as appealing as it, for some reason, is! But the cast in this film, Pastrana’s childhood buddies as well as some additional extreme athletes, don’t seem to have the same on-screen comaraderie that the Jackass crew imbue. What the movie loses because of this is the human interest. And the humor.
While the stunts were good (truth be told, some were HUGE!), this film just didn’t feel … well, fun. And as much as I was hoping to like it, I was just as happy to leave when it was over.
Thanks again to the Geek for E staff for giving me the opportunity to screen this film. You guys, and gal, are awesome, and we here on this end of the screen appreciate what you do for us.
