Itching to get a real look at The Dark Knight Rises?  I for one can’t wait to see Anne Hathaway as Miss Selina Kyle (and get a peek at a young — maybe not evil? — Ra’s Al Ghul).  Well, if you’re near an IMAX theater the chances are very good you’ll get your holiday wish.  Warner Brothers is releasing a peek at the prologue of the film on December 16th here in the States (UK folks’ll get their peek on the 21st).  Straight from the home of Bugs Bunny:

BURBANK, CA, December 1, 2011 – Warner Bros. Pictures’ “The Dark Knight Rises”—the pic conclusion to filmmaker Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy—is one of the most anticipated films of 2012, but moviegoers won’t have to wait until next year to see the six-minute opening sequence of the film. The film’s prologue will be unveiled exclusively in select 70mm IMAX® theatres worldwide…..  The Prologue will be released in North America on December 16, and in the UK on December 21, 2011. Additional international dates vary by territory and will be announced soon.

Sadly, no IMAX theaters in the DC/MD/VA area will be showing it, so unless you’re away from home during this sneak peek it’s no dice for us.  Hopefully Warner Brothers will send it out on their Web site shortly after the big reveal though (they do promise more international dates, so it’s possible a wider reveal will take place later, she said hopefully.)  With this being the final chapter in the Dark Knight saga, it’s sure to be a cool ride.
