Chernobyl. Like Three Mile Island, only a thousand times worse. Even 25 years later, the area in and around Chernobyl is “unsound”. Sounds like the perfect vacay spot!
If you just read that and thought “not for a million bucks”, you’re a heck of a lot more intelligent than the characters in Chernobyl Diaries, the latest film from Paranormal Activity‘s Oren Peli. Read on to see an advance pic from the film!
This film has been described as a new take on the “found footage” genre, so I’m pretty excited to see what happens. Especially since the woman in this picture is definitely not psyched….
A little description about the film, straight from IMDb:
Six tourists hire an extreme tour guide who takes them to the abandoned city Pripyat, the former home to the workers of the Chernobyl nuclear reactor. During their exploration, they soon discover they are not alone.

Was initially contacted about this film from another agency
in which I “liked” it in order to get more updates on the film.
The synopsis seems interesting and lends itself to the horror
genre. Although I am quite surprised that it took so long for
a film to come out exploiting the Chernobyl disaster. It did
take Japan some time to make their monster movies about the
radiation from the atomic bombs from WWII. Usually in this
day-of-age things get made into projects much too quickly;
especially as TV-movies.

Stephen, you’re absolutely right; I do believe a large percentage of the folks in Hollywood need to revisit the definition of “Too Soon”….
I’m intrigued by this premise, especially since there hasn’t been much done on this disaster, apart from the documentaries & a tv movie “drama”….
David Dahlberg says
Well, I don’t what that guys problem was but you can get tours to Chernobyl and people go all the time, its just very limited…
